About Directional Achievement
Andy Small - President of Directional Achievement
Andy Small, President of Directional Achievement, began his sales career in 1980 in the chemical manufacturing industry in Atlanta, Georgia, an industry that even today is known for its intense competition. During this period, the country was coming out of a severe recession with interest rates of twenty plus percent. "In looking back, the only components that I had to offer my employer at the time, was my willingness to work hard and a willingness to learn".
One of his first lessons taught to him by his mentor was that 'activity creates activity'. After a short period of time, Andy quickly learned that success in the selling profession required the ability to speak the customer's language and to differentiate your offering from your competitors. This was achieved by bringing 'value' to the customer, the ability to build a 'trusting relationship', and to understand that successful selling is a 'process' made of many key components.
Today, Andy Small is a sales professional with a passion for training. He has adhered to the axiom that 'activity does create activity'. Over the past 26 years, he has successfully developed and written effective sales curriculums that are being practiced and taught on regional and national levels. Andy has taught at the collegiate level, and has personally trained hundreds of sales executives and sales teams that continue to perform in competitive market conditions.
